My take:  My soon-to-be 9 year old has been wild about LEGOS for a long time now so I was sure this Mega Blok kit would be a big hit with him.   After all, to my untrained eye, these kits appear to be exactly the same.  Here he is, getting started.  And that, my friends, is the last picture I have of him with the set.  He was completely bored with it.  Why? I have no idea.  I suspect because it wasn't a STAR WARS kit and that is his current obsession favorite in LEGO World.  So what's a reviewer to do?  Turn to her fabulous nephew, that's what!

We turned the kit over to G., my nephew who lives nearby and who also loves LEGOs (and happens to have a very talented mother who is ALSO a reviewer - she took the pictures below too).  Luckily, he was interested and, wrote his very own informative review.  I include it here for you, with pictures (with his permission).  I see another reviewer in the making, don't you?  Thanks G. for helping me out!

"I built the set! it was very fun! thanks for the truck! I thought it was fun and maybe easier to build than a LEGO. The directions showed you where to put the block, whereas the LEGO sets make you guess the pieces seem to fit together more firmly. I was surprised because this was my first MEGA-BLOKS set and I wasn't sure it was as good as my typical LEGOs, but it exceeded my building standards. The mini figures are a little bit different, but just as good."
