My take: It's no secret I have a "girl crush" on Jane Porter (see the last review I did for one of her books). So when I was given the chance to read an advance review copy of her latest book, Easy on the Eyes, I couldn't say "yes" fast enough. And I read the book just as fast. Who wouldn't? This delectable books was easy to devour. Of course, it helped that I could really related to the protagonist Tiana, a widow at a young age as I was. But more than that, Tiana's whole story was rich, compelling and engrossing. Now, I have no idea what it's like to have to maintain a perfect figure and a perfect face just to keep my job (luckily, my boss is fine with my very imperfect face and very imperfect (read: fat) body - I mean, who needs to look good to crunch numbers? But no matter, you don't know to understand the Hollywood elite to enjoy Easy on the Eyes. With Ms. Porter's writing skills, she takes you right inside Tiana's world and on a very enjoyable ride to the very end. Escapism? You bet. And I loved every minute of it.
